ABOUT THE CENTER OF THE TRANS-ATLANTIC SECURITY

The Center for Trans-Atlantic Security is operating since December 2000 under the auspices of the Institute of USA and Canada Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences. The principal guidelines of the Center's work are developed by leading Russian expert in contemporary international security and Russian-American relations, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of USA and Canada Studies, Dr. Sergey ROGOV.
The main purpose of the Center, established between the Millennia, is to analyze and to study along with all traditional also new challenges for the Trans-Atlantic security, and the new rising opportunities of the tri-lateral American-European-Russian cooperation in security area in Europe. One of our main missions we see to establish firm ties between Russian, European and American officials, public figures and scientific communities to promote better vision of shared security challenges for the Trans-Atlantic region, and sponsor responsible decisions in the security area at the highest governmental levels. The basis for our future activities in the Trans-Atlantic security area will be the Institute of USA and Canada Studies' well established contacts with Russian and foreign international security decision makers.

The Center's staff consists of a number of experts on arms control, disarmament, non-proliferation, global security, and related issues. Experience of the Center's stuff makes it possible the realization of the most ambitious research projects together with the creation of the new level of atmosphere of creative cooperation.
The Center is open for partnership with the colleagues in Europe, USA, and Canada. We are interested in the joint research projects, seminars, and conferences with the Russian, European and American research Foundations, Centers and Institutes, and cooperation with individual scholars. We hope that our future cooperation will be a step forward to better understanding of the Trans-Atlantic traditional and rising security issues.
